AMCH principal suspended

The Assam Government has suspended AMCH principal Dr AK Adhikary with immediate effect. In an order, the government has asked Dr Narayan Upadhyay to take over as the principal of the state’s first medical college.

 The decision was taken when health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at his residence in Koinadhara on Monday night.

Apart from CID probe into the sensational AMCH incident, the government has instituted a one man panel of PP Verma to probe the allegations of lapses. Verma is asked to submit his findings by the next 15 days.
