MLA’s husband arrested

Silchar police have arrested the husband of a woman legislator on charges of domestic violence on Monday.

He is none other than Jakie Jackob, the second husband of Borkhola MLA Rumi Nath.

The social welfare officer was arrested immediately after his legislator wife Nath lodged a complaint before police alleging physical torture inflicted on her for failing to pay money two years after their marriage that evoked sharp reaction across the state.
