Repolling underway in Silchar

Amid massive security arrangement, repolling is underway with brisk note in nine Barak Valley booths on Thursday.

Repolling began from 7 in the morning in 2 booths under Silchar constituency.

Voters in large number started waiting in huge queues to exercise their franchise in Jogai Madhai ME School under Lakhipur assembly constituency.

Repolling was ordered because of technical glitches in the electronic voting machines on April 12.

Heavy repolling is also going on in Balichand LP School under Borkhola Assembly constituency. The polling will take place till 5 in the evening.

The authorities ordered repolling in the booth acting on the allegations that a group of youths damaged the EVM on the voting day.
