16 injured in mishap

As many as 16 persons sustained injures when a bus met road mishap this morning near Champa ridge in Kokrajhar district.

According to source, a bus bearing registration AS-15C-0322 was carrying supporters of Lok Sabha MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary coming from Baksa to attend nomination fielding at DC office in Kokrajhar. The bus meets mishap due to control of speedy on the 31(C) national highway.

The injures were rushed to Kokrajhar Rup Nath Brahma civil hospital.

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
