Waiting for Rahul Gandhi

Amid a massive security arrangement, people thronging in thousands in Biswanath Chariali to attend Rahul Gandhi’s rally on Monday.

Security forces are fanning across the district to thwart any move by NDFB-S militants to disrupt Gandhi’s poll rally to campaign for Tezpur party candidate Bhupen Bora.

Senior party leaders told Assam Times that security forces are guarding hundreds of buses deployed by the party to ferry people to the rally at the Kamala Kanta Khetra.

Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Tezpur at 11 in the morning. Then he would straightly leave for Biswanath Charilai to hold the rally. He would fly to Dibrugarh at 1-30 in the afternoon.      

Massive security arrangement is required in the entire district in view of NDFB-S militants’ 12 hour bandh to oppose Rahul Gandhi’s visit.

Rahul's rally in Assam is equally important. He has been strength of congress party and he has given its party a breakthrough. His efforts were transformed into actions.

One can see that Rahul Gandhi's popularity is rising day by day. He is very much popular among the young generation and also among the people at the grassroot level. He is putting good efforts in reaching out to people.

Land pattas tomorrow

No end to hawker impasse

Big dam consignment!

Four burgers carrying a huge consignment on the river Brahmaputra seems to have generated no less anxiety among the big dam protesters across the state.Amid tight security, the burgers were seen leaving towards Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday morning at the Pandu Ghat in Guwahati amid speculations of NHPC authority’s fresh attempt to procure big dam turbines.But the security personnel guarding the burgers are tightlipped on the consignment. Fresh tension in Bihali

Tension is simmering again in Bihali in Sonitpur district bordering Arunachal Pradesh after police recovered four bodies inside the forest area on Saturday.All the four persons have been remaining traceless since the Chauldhuwa episode where Arunachal Pradesh miscreants shoot dead 11 local villagers in January 29.They were believed to have been shot dead recently a more than a month before they were held in captivity. The bodies were identified as Burha Teron, Bishoy Teron, Maneswar Munda and Kancha.
