Poachers killed in Kaziranga

Two dreaded rhino poachers were killed at a fierce gun battle with forest guards in Kaziranga on Saturday.

The encounter took place at around 6 in the evening at Aarimora forest camp in Kohora range.

The poachers were believed to have been killed on the spot during the gun battle that lasted for nearly one hours.

Forest guards further claimed to have recovered a rhino horn from the encounter spot.

Notably, despite round the clock vigil, poachers have been striking in the national park killing over 15 rhinos during the last three months.
