Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Fuel for Fire is  short film with a story about conservation of water and livelihood pattern of rural communities near Gerukamukh, in Dhemaji. The film is about wastage of water. The crew made a field study upon which, it was discovered that people living in nearby areas of Gerukamukh hill collect drinking water from unsafe sources that has high potential to cause hazard. The team decided to document the practice and link it up with water wastages. Jude Rangku T Sangma, the BDO from Chokpot block in Garo Hills area of Meghalaya released by GNLA near Allagre and reached home on Tuesday morning. The families of nine police-firing victims in Assam were paid monetary relief recently following the direction of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
