Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Assam police-firing victims get monetary relief

The families of nine police-firing victims in Assam were paid monetary relief recently following the direction of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Cong MP demands release of central fund

Congress MP from Koliabor Gaurav Gogoi demandds  intervention by Union minister for water resources Uma Bharti’s interventio to release the outstanding central share of flood and erosion management and erosion schemes. In a recent letter to the minister, Gogoi said that the state is implementing 41 flood management programmes with an estimated cost of Rs 1386 crore with 70:30 funding pattern. But, he said, the Centre has not released its share of Rs 1017 crore. Jorhat trade fair from Wednesday
