Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Narrow escape for Mahanta

Former Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta had a narrow escape when his convoy met with a road mishap in Golaghat on Saturday. Forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma formally opened the abode of one horn rhino at a brief function at Kohora range in presence of dozens of foreign tourists who arrived in the area three days back.
