Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Veteran editor-journalist Tilak Hazarika expires

One of the senior most editor-journalists of Assam, Tilak Hazarika, 95, expired last night at GNRC hospital (Dispur campus). Hazarika, who was admitted to the hospital on 18 September, breathed his last at 12.50 am on 22 October. The former editor of Asom Bani and Sadin was not feeling well for some time due to age related ailments.He will be paid last tributes by the media fraternity at Sadin-Pratidin house and later in Guwahati Press Club at around 11 am before his cremation at Navagraha.

Crude bomb recovered

A crude bomb was found at a house of Abduch Chamad of Kumguri under Tulsibi police outpost in Kokrajhar district late last night. Based on specific information, a search operation was launched by Kokrajhar police and recovered a Crude Bomb, weighing about 3.5 Kg. from the house premises of Abduch Chamad of Kumguri in Kokrajhar district late last night around 12:30 am and accordingly seized the same. Abduch Chamad was apprehended for this incident, said a senior police officer.

NEUFC, Delhi Dynamo play draw

After winning three matches,  NEUFC played draw with Delhi Dynamo at the packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Saturday evening.
