Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Greater Guwahati Amateur Muaythai Club in association with Guwahati Press Club has organized two-day self-defence training camp for the benefit of lady scribes. The training on self-defence technique will be conducted at the press club premises on the morning hours of 17 & 18 December 2016. The next Saturday evening OPD at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) will be attended by a group of physicians from the Government Ayurvedic College, Jalukbari (Assam). A novel on conservation movement, penned by Pankaj Govinda Medhi, was released at Guwahati Press Club on Sunday afternoon. Titled ‘Charai Chuburi’, the novel in Assamese elaborates a distinctive part of the movement to preserve the forest & wildlife across Assam. Published Banalata, Dibrugarh, the book was officially released by Phanindra Kumar Devchoudhury, editor of Niyamiya Barta, award winning author Bipul Deuri, conservation personality Soumyadeep Dutta and journalist Nava Thakuria.
