Guwahati: In a move that brings ray of respite for two kidnapped officials of a private oil exploration firm, ULFA-I has reserved it's decision of extreme steps in view of the mounting pressure from many sides.
Confirming this self styled military head of the proscribed outfit Paresh Barua said as he was talking to a section of journalists over phone in Guwahati on Sunday.
Barua, the fugitive rebel leader told the journalists that they reserved the extreme steps in view of the appeal from the people of all sections.
He however said that extreme step always may not suggest capital punishments as has been interpretated by many media houses.
The respite for Pranab Gogoi and Ram Kumar and their families two days after ULFA-I annonced the decision of extreme steps alleging lack of response from Quippo and the government.
The duo were kidnapped at gunpoint the oil rig in Arunachal Pradesh two months back and return demanded ransome.
