Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture team visits Raha J B fish farm
RAHA : The Director of the Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture, ICAR, Dr. S. K. Swain, Bhubaneswar, today visited the Jungal Balahu Fish Farm under Fishery Dept., Nagaon with Dr. P. P Chakravarty, Principal Scientist, CIFA, Bhubaneswar and Dr. Sanjay Sarma, Fishery Coordinator, ARIAS Society.
Dr. Swain appreciated the available infrastructure of the fish farm and its fantastic management by the concerned department.
The director observed the fish seeds of Jayanti Rohu, Amur Carp and Jayanti Rohu brooders during his visiting hours and highly encouraged the efforts of the Department. He interacted with the farmers present in the meeting and requested to take the benefits of Matsya Setu App. He further informed me that CIFA will try to do the needful for the farmers exposure visit to CIFA shortly.
Dr. R.C. Barman, District Fisheries Development Officer, Ngaon welcomed the visiting team and expressed his happiness at their visit.
Dr. Barman requested CIFA Director to recognise Jungal Balahu Fish Farm as CIFA’s Fish Multiplication Centre for the benefit of NE region.
Bhaskar Nath, fishery officer, JB fish farm and other officials from the farm were also present.

Bibekananda Bhattacharya, an eminent tabla player, passed away at his Nagaon, Amolapatty residence at around 8 am on September 28. Bhattacharya, who was immensely popular for his immeasurable skill on tabla playing in the cultural field of not only in his home state but also in other parts of the country, was 77 at the time of death. He was suffering from renal complications for some time and was undergoing treatment at the GMCH till September 26.
