ABSU organises long walk for peace

The influential All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has organised a long walk for peace, justice and development among society here at Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The long walks was kicked off by ABSU president Promod Boro at Maibong House in Kokrajhar and traversed to Dotma.

Hundreds of activists from ABSU and citizens participated which was organised by Kokrajhar district unit of the students union.The long walks would cover nearly 20 kms from Kokrajhar town via JD Road,Chandrapara,Ghoskata and concluding at Dotma ABSU office.The mission has been emphasized for bringing peace and sustainable change to create social awareness through walk & friendship,walk & listen  to build an adavance society.The mission also hold meetings with villagers to discuss on the several issues, apart from education, social integration, social development, listening, discussing, planning and working to meet total revolution in the region.

President of the ABSU Promod Boro while participating long walks said that the students union has been organising long walks across the region to meet good living, healthy society, development and working for integration. He said that the common publics are facing lots of hardships in several fronts of social aspects like education, health, communication due to non initiatives from government.

'The long was was organised to creating awareness about educational, social upliftment, economic sustainable steps among common publics through bringing of total revolution in the area', Boro said.

KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. The smuggled Ganja was bound for Bihar from Agartala in a Scorpio vehicle, bearing registration no.BR 11V-7551.
BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground.
