Two persons were apprehended for involved with poaching under Bhuyanpara forest range in Manash National Park in Baksa on Tuesday. 


According to forest official, a joint team of forest staff from Bhuyanpara range and Salbari police conducted a search operation in Rupohi area where two poachers were arrested along with a piece of ivory. The recovered tuskers' weight was around one kg and its market value was around one lakh. They were identified as Bulang Kherkatary and Rudang Basumatary, who were involved with poaching inside MNP.

'The forest staff and police have been raided against poaching in the area to protect Manash National Park and successfully apprehend poachers', said a senior forest officer in Bhuyanpara range.
