Charaideo starts Sonari–Moran land acquisition
The Charaideo district administration has begun the process of acquiring land for the proposed upgrade of the Sonari–Moran road under the Asom Mala 3.0 programme.
The project covers the stretch from Bhojo Railway Crossing to Jajali Panch Ali and is aimed at improving connectivity and easing movement across the region.
A notification issued by the District Level Land Purchase Committee (DLLPC) invites landowners in villages under the Mahmora Revenue Circle to voluntarily sell land required for the project. Those unwilling to do so have been asked to submit written objections to the Deputy Commissioner's office within one month.
The administration said the acquisition process will follow the provisions of the Assam Land Policy, with compensation to be paid as per applicable government norms.
The road upgrade is part of the state's Asom Mala 3.0 initiative, which seeks to modernise key road corridors, improve regional connectivity and support economic growth through better transport infrastructure.
Residents and landowners have been advised to verify land records and cooperate with officials to facilitate the acquisition process and avoid delays in the project.
