Adivasi students cycles for land pattas

Around 500 activist of All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) took out a cycle rally from Panery and Hatigor to the Revenue Circle office Harisinga located at Bazaarkhola of Tangla in protest of Land pattas on Wednesday.The protesters gheraod the Office shouting slogans and holding playcards that read No Patta No Vote, No Land Patta No rest, Hamar Bagan Hamar Matti, We want land Patta etc; They also urged the government to provide 5 kg rice to each family under Food security act. "The tea tribes people should be handed over land pattas by the government or else we will not caste our vote to the Congress in coming assembly election ". Lakhindra  Mula Anchalik President of Panery AASAA said. The blockade was cleared with the intervention of Lakhya Jyoti Das, Khoirabari Revenue Circle Officer who is presently incharge of Harisinga Revenue Circle .The activists handed over land documents belonging to 2419 people. They also submitted a memorandum with their various demands that include handing over of land pattas, increase of daiy wage to Rs.330 etc; to the Chief Minister through office of Harisinga Revenue Circle officer.The acticists were from


Corramore, Hatigor, Bhutiachang, Panery, Majuli tea gardens of Udalguri district.
