Adivasis may boycott LS polls

The Adivasis are quite disappointed these days. They have threaten to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and even likely boycott Rahul Gandhi’s road show in Tezpur and Nagaon on Wednesday.

Talking to Assam Times, the student body leaders alleged that despite repeated assurance, the governments in Delhi and Dispur did not accord ST status to the Adivasis.

The influential Adivasi student union burnt effigies of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Dhekiajuli on Sunday alleging their failure.
