Gecko seized, smuggler held

Despite stringent laws, wild animals are being smuggled from Guwahati. Basistha police arrested a person from Beltola area and seized two gecko snakes from his possession.

Identified as Devendra Singh, the person from Manipur was held from a hotel after he received two gecko snakes on Saturday night.

The geckos were seized hardly 12 hours after police seized from Koliabhumura area and held a youth from Manipur on way to Guwahati.
