Protesters flogged in Last Gate

Several people have been injured when security forces sprang upon the protesters at the Dispur Last gate on Thursday.

Home guards, NREGA employees along with several organizations have been staging dharna for the last three days to draw the government. But the authority has yet to blink.

The protesters suddenly turned violent on Thursday alleging negligence. The agitating home guards broke the bamboo barricade where police lobbed tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse the protestors.

A few of the protesters clashed with the security forces to further compound the situation. Later the situation was brought under control and the injured have been rushed to the GMCH.
