BJP legislator Prasanta Phukan has written to the Chief Electoral Officer seeking a probe into the allegations that his ballot was cancelled in the recent Rajya Sabha polls.
In a letter on Tuesday, the MLA from Dibrugarh further requested the state poll authority to make his ballot papers public.
Notably, his ballot is understood to have been rejected for openly displaying in the voting room before dropping into the box.
According to what the four other legislators alleged, Phukan ignored the party whip by getting the ballot verified by the party agent deployed on the day.
Phukan, however, called it a Congress-sponsored conspiracy to malign his image in the upper Assam districts.
