Bora acquitted in Topno case

It’s a huge breather for Ripun Bora. The Kamrup district session court on Monday acquitted the former education minister in the sensational Danila Topnno murder case.

In its final hearing the lower court in Guwahati announced that there is no evidence to implicate the senior Congress leader.

Notably, Bora was dropped as the education minister in 2007 after CBI nabbed him on bribery allegation in connection with the murder case.

He was further suspended from the party and was not fielded in the 2011 Assembly polls. The ruling party, however, fielded his wife Manika Bora who won the polls.
