Paralyzing bandh

Normal life came to a grinding halt in parts of lower Assam following the KLO-sponsored bandh called in protest against the killing of Brindabon Rajbanshi in fake encounter.

Vital roads wore a deserted look, shops and markets, schools and colleges, banks and offices remained closed from early in the morning on Thursday.

Security forces claimed to have killed the KLO top leader in an encounter. But the Koch Rajbanshi militant outfit alleged it an encounter.
