Me-dam-me-fi celebration

The Ahomes in the state and outside are observing the Me-dam-me-fi to worship their ancestors on Friday.

Prayers are being organized to the Ahom forefathers across the state asking for divine help to ensure world peace and prosperity.

Ahom community people in Guwahati are holding pujas in the make shift Moidams for puja offering from early in the morning.

The historic Ahom mansions in Sivasagar are teeming with people to worship the forefathers with a day long programme. Reports of Me-dam-me-fi celebration are pouring in from Mumbai and Delhi.

State TMC dead opposed to delimitation draft

The TMC Assam unit has opposed the draft delimitation proposal published by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday evening. The proposal is prepared based on the 2001 census, which the TMC claims is not correct as there has been a change in the population pattern in the state.
