ONGC faces protest

Local residents in the Rudrasagar area near the Sivasagar town blame it all on the ONGC authority for the explosion in the oil well on Thursday.

They told Assam Times that they have been demanding withdrawal of the oil well from the thickly populated area. But the authorities have been downplaying the demands.

“Had it been withdrawn earlier, this situation would not have taken place today,” said Nishant Bora who is leading a group of people to gherao the ONGC authorities.
