Bihali: Govt faces wrath

The Assam government comes in for sharp criticism for the bloodbath in Bihali a day after at least 10 people were shot dead by Arunachalese militants.

Local residents told Assam Times that for the last several years they have been demanding security forces to prevent unabated encroachment by a section of the people from the neighbouring state. But only to go unheard. “We won’t allow it to happen. We will stop this encroachment. But government won’t help us,” rued Akhilesh Munda who was also present at the camp when the firing took place in Chauldhuwa.

AGP, BJP squarely condemned the incident and in the same breath the opposition parties criticized the government for remaining a mute spectator which was why, the gory incident took place.
