Hope on independent MLAs

In a set back for the opposition consensus candidate Haidor Hussain, independent MLA Jatin Mali made it plain on Wednesday that he would vote for the ruling party candidate.

He is believed to have decided not to vote for the AGP-sponsored candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls slated for February 7. Two other independent legislators are also expected to vote for the ruling party candidates.

Government Extends AFSPA in Manipur Amidst Ethnic Clashes
