Guwahati taps still dry

The deadlock over water supply refuses to die down even 12 hours after the entire Guwahati city plunged into a dearth of potable water. The situation is expected to improve only after the next 72 hours.

Public health engineering workers are on strike from 5 in the morning alleging the failure of the government to redress their grievances.

The workers on strike have not allowed the hired men to run the water pumps at the Pandu Ghat. They raised their 14 point demands last week threatening strike from Monday. But of no avail forcing them to resort to strike for the next 72 hours.
