Massive security for R-Day

A massive security arrangement is in place across the state to foil ULFA’s R-Day diktat on Sunday.

Security forces are fanning in the nook and corner of the state to thwart any attempt to disrupt the Republic Day celebrations. Vital roads and bridges, oil and gas installations, railway stations and police stations are being heavily guarded to deal with any eventualities.

BSF jawans are guarding the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri districts apprehending movement of insurgent elements from across the border.

Air surveillance on the sky is another measure to ensure peace and normalcy during the celebration. All two, three and four wheelers are being closely checked to scan the movement of the subversive elements in the district and sub divisional headquarters.

Guwahati turns into a security fortress. Maximum concentration seems to have fallen on the Veterinary Playground in Khanapara where Governor JB Patnaik is scheduled to unfurl the national tricolor before taking the salute of the army, paramilitary forces, police, NCC scouts and guides.
