A brain storming meet  of police heads from 14 districts chalked out a slew of strategies to counter the growing militant activities in these districts.  Presiding over the meeting at Assam police Headquarters on Thursday, DGP JN Chaudhury asked the SPs and IGs and DIGs to sternly deal with the fanning militant forces in the state.       The state of late, has witnessed an orgy of militanta activities in the form of murder, abduction and extortion forcing the centre to keep Dispur on alert.

Seven Engineering Students Died in Accident at Jalukbari

In a tragic road accident that occurred in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati seven engineering students died at spot last night. According to reports, a group of 10 Assam Engineering College (AEC) students traveled in a scorpio car. Petition Filed in Supreme Court Against Gauhati High Court's Disposal of PIL for Independent Probe into Fake Encounters

A Special Leave Petition under Article 136 of the Constitution of India has been filed in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India by advocate Arif Jwadder. The petition appeals against the Gauhati High Court's disposal of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking an independent investigation into all fake encounters that took place from May 2021 onwards.
