The Rabha Hasong dominated areas in Goalpara and South Kamrup continue to embroil in violence. The situation refuses to improve on Friday a day after the police firing in Goalpara where a youth died and several others have been injured. Normal life remains crippled in these areas following the 12 hour bandh in protest against the Thursday's police firing. Vehicles are off from the streets. Offices, shops and markets, schools and colleges are remaining closed. Notably, the move to hold the proposed Rabha Hasong autonomous body runs into a hail of protest from the non Rabha organizations who have vowed to disrupt the poll process.
