Anti Malaria drive in Tirap

In effort to eradicate the malaria, Sevakendra (a NGO under Miao Diocese) organised an training programme in collaboration with District Health Society, Khonsa from 27th to 28th June in connection with observation Anti-malaria month . The programme was inaugurated by Dr.T.Matey (DVBDCO) cum –in Charge DMO. Dr.T.Matey highlighted the malarial disease in Tirap District and requested the CHVs to give their selfless services to their own respected villages

Around 15 Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) from different Malarial prone villages have participated in the two days training programme.  The basic aim of training was to provide better service to the interior part of villages in Tirap by involving the village volunteers in the Health care system.  The two days training session was to teach the CHVs about the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of malaria. DVBDCP staffs demonstrated the Rapid Diagnosis test (RDT), slide Test etc to diagnose the malaria parasite. Practical session was also done by each Health Volunteers.

At the end of the training programme, Malaria testing kits and medicines were distributed by Sevakendra staffs. The programme was ended with a vote of thanks by Fedrin Paul ( DPO,Sevakendra-Caritas IMCP II project).
