Some startling revelations have come up before the Justice Manisena Commission on Thursday while it was hearing the November 24 Beltola incident. Special superintendent of police in charge of the city Surinder Kumar along with AASA leaders and a non governmental organisation.
According to sources here, Mr Kumar said the entire incident a pre planned one by the Adivasi militant outfit ANLA. He further cited the footages to justify his statement. On the other hand, a non governmental organisation North East Network alleged before the government police brutality on the Adivasi women during the incident. Meanwhile, the AASA in its submission informed its decision to shy away from deposition before the panel. Others who submitted memorandum include Guwahati Students Union, Bedabrata Dutta, Naba Thakuria. Eight others were summoned by the commission in this connection.

Poaching refuses to die down in Kaziranga. Another one-horned rhino was shot dead in the famed Kaziranga National Park on. The carcass was spotted on Tuesday morning at Burhapahar. But the poachers failed to take away the horn.
Talking to assamtimes, officials said that there were reports of firing from the Burhapahar range where forces launched an operation against the poachers. Cartridges of the AK series of rifles and 303 ammunition was recovered from the site. Meanwhile, joint operations are going on to nab the poachers.

Assam Human Rights Commission on Tuesday urged introduction of human rights in the syllabus of primary and secondary school and at the college level.
