Inauguration of Mobile Banking in Diphu

The first Mobile Banking facility in Assam was inaugurated in Diphu on 21st July,2007. LANGPI DEHANGI RURAL BANK which is mostly in Karimganj and North Cachar Hills District is introducing it in Assam. It was inaugurated by famous personalities like Dr. M.K. Nayak (Deputy general manager,SBI), Mr. B.K. Phukan (DIF, sectional officer), Mr. K.C. Behra, Mr. G.K. Sarmah and Mr. N.K. Hazarika. This is indeed good news for the people of Assam and should pave the way for many such initiatives.

Namrup : The AASU, Advisor Mr. Samujjal Bhattacharya has said that the Tarun Gogoi led Government seems to be suffering from a laid back approach as it has come to power again. Kuwait : As the two-month amnesty for illegal immigrants residing in Kuwait ends on June 30, the Indian embassy in the Gulf country has already issued nearly 7,000 emergency certificates to benefit from the scheme. The government has issued formal orders appointing Mr R S Sharma as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), India’s biggest oil producer. Sharma was already acting as the interim CMD of ONGC since May 25 last year. Sharma would be heading the company till January 31, 2011, official sources said.
