Minister asks for early completion of projects
Assam Minister for Information and Public Relations Basanta Das has asked the concerned department to pull up its sock for early completion of various projects which includes Dr Bhupen Hazarika Photo and Film Archive, Lakshminath Bezbaruah Institute of Mass Communication and Printing Technology and Mukhya Mantrir Sabdajyoti Asoni after a review meeting on Tuesday in Guwahati.
The minister also asked the officials to take immediate steps to fill up the various vacant posts in the department and also pursue the matter of promotion.
Moreover, he asked the officials to submit a proposal to increase the corpus fund under the Journalists’ Medical Welfare Scheme to Rs 10 crore as announced by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi recently and also to submit a proposal for implementation of the Journalists’ Pension Scheme as early as possible.
Secretary of I&PR, Dr AK Roy, Director of Information and Public Relations Ranjit Gogoi, Deputy Secretary Bandana Choudhury, Additional Director Prasanta K Saikia, Joint Director Shekhar Engti and officers and staff of the department were also present at the meeting.
