Concern over atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh

Memo to the President of India

Expressing deep concern the ongoing disturbance in Bangladesh with massive destruction of Temples, gutting down of houses the different Hindu Temples, Religious organizations of Dima Hasao district of Assam have sought immediate intervention of the President of India for the solution thereafter.

In this regards several different Hindu Temples, Religious organizations like Viswa Hundu parishad, haflong Branch, ISKON, Radharaman Sevak Sangha, Rastriya Sayamsevak Sanngh, Ramkrishna Seva Samity, Ram Thakur Seva samity, Satsang Vihar, Kali Bari, Bazar Kalibari, Jana Jagaran Manch, Okhondo Mandali, Sri Sri Jagganath bari,Govinda Mandir, Namghar, Gauriya Math,Lord Thangjing Temple, Hanuman Mandir etc of Haflong  have submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao District, Haflong, Assam on Friday.

The memorandum stated that this memorandum was being presented before him to communicate and convey the sentiments of the people, irrespective of caste, creed and religion on the recent ongoing destruction of Hindu Temples and houses in Bangladesh by some anti social elements or say fanatic Islamist.

He might be aware of the facts that an anti-Hindu activity was in process in Bangladesh, a neighbouring and bordering country with South Assam and was facing communal disturbances since the last few months. Destruction of temples and houses were reported there, till date more than 90 Temples were destroyed and at least more than 2000 Hindu houses were gutted down. And it is very pathetic to note here that such destruction in Bangladesh managed to find a small corner space into our newspapers and electronic media rather than soapy serials and drama. And of course some misinformation in this regard also disturbs the linen of their mutual harmony and the present environment.

In context of the above said matter which was a matter of great concern as they being nearest to the disturbed area. And the fact was that, it might be with whatever religion or creed; such instances of disturbances, religious whack and destruction with a hidden agenda were intolerable and unjustified. No one in this world with a sound mind would submit and agree to such activities and the issue would soon fall into hot pan. And Sir, if not taken care of or looked after at an early time-frame, such issue will surely ignite communal disharmony and there was a chance of sprouting of a riot of which we are very much worried that the air of such issue might blew in their own domicile also. They need an early intervention into this issue from his end, the memorandum concluded.
