Gogoi meets Sonia in Delhi

Crippling dissidence in Congress finally reached party high command. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday morning at the latter’s 10th Janpath residence. Gogoi who is arriving back in Guwahati in the afternoon apprised the party president of the stepped up efforts by the dissident legislators to unseat him.

Gandhi is believed to have asked Gogoi to continue. She is expected to pass an order to APCC to stop dissident activities.

Gogoi on Wednesday said that the reasons for discontentment of the disgruntled members of the Congress would be looked into.
