North East Youth Foundation has initiated a talk programme on ‘Entrepreneurship: A Force for Change’ for the benefit of young people of the region. This programme has been organised to provide a platform amongst young upcoming entrepreneurs with experienced entrepreneurs of the region. The initial talk was delivered by Bhaskar Datta Goswami, entrepreneur and president of National Youth Project (Assam Chapter) on 19th March at Flamez Café in the city. He was sharing his experiences of starting his own unit related to handlooms of the state. As a successful entrepreneur he was also appealing participants to know more about the state if they want to grow in the region. He was sharing how they started vegetable shops way back in the early 80s. “I got the opportunity to travel across the country and the region as I was associated with some of the Gandhian organisation, I had travelled from Ladakh to Sri Lanka and parts of the North East “, said Goswami. He added that when he started his business there were less educated person from middle class family in business as most preferred salaried job and specially government jobs. Interaction with the participants followed after the talk. He appealed the young people to avail opportunities and learn skills to become successful entrepreneur. Talk programme was moderated by Ranjan K Baruah, convener of NEYF. He was mentioning about challenges faced by young people to start enterprise in the region. Loknath Bastola, entrepreneur cum convener of the programme had mentioned about the programme and mentioned similar talk programme shall be organised every month with various topics where experienced entrepreneurs would be invited to share their experiences with young people.
