Concern over damage of water supply line
The Public Health Engineering Department under administrative control Dima Hasao Autonomous Council has taken strong exception over the repeated damage of main water supply line caused by the NKC Pvt Ltd Company engaged for the construction of Mahasarak.
It alleged that the NKC Pvt Ltd company engaged for the construction of Mahasarak has been involved in the destruction of main pipe line in the name of construction of mahasarak many a times though the DHAC and PHED repeatedly cautioned the NKC Pvt Ltd company in past. The company was alerted in a meeting held at Chief Executive Member’s conference hall on 1st September 2012 regarding the damages caused by the company but the company ignored.
On Tuesday Executive Member, Smt Ranu Langthasa along with the Executive Engineer, PHED visited the site where the pipe line was damaged near Jatinga and warned the company to restore the damaged pipe line immediately and not to destroy this pipe on which entire populace of Haflong depend for drinking water, otherwise strong action would be taken against the company.
But the representatives of the NKC Company held the NHAI responsible for the damage of the pipe line of the PHED.
