SULFA Vs ULFA again

Our special correspondent Guwahati : A full scale fratricidal clash may rock Assam if the words of surrendered ULFA leaders are any indication.

In a statement released here on Wednesday evening, some SULFA leaders have warned the ULFA to abstain from killing their colleagues like Rinku Chaudhory to avoid consequences.Signed by Sunil Nath, Jugal Kishor Mahanta, Saurabh Gogoi, Rosevelt Rabha, Mridul Phukan, Sailen Dutta Konwar, Amal Das and Pratap Das, the statement further urged the government to ensure security to the surrendered ULFA cadres.

The ULFA has claimed responsibility for killing their former colleague Rinku Chaudhory. Hira Sarania (ULFA spokesman) has confirmed that he has been killed because of his past misdeeds.

The government has decided to keep a close watch on the Guwahati based surrendered SULFA leaders According to reliable sources, the police administration will maintain a strict vigil on the city areas where the SULFA leaders reside. They will also monitor the movements of people around the SULFA members in the city.

Moreover, the police are also preparing to make a survey of all rented houses to identify if there are any ULFA people residing with a false identity. It is suspected that there are a lot of ULFA activists in the city's rented houses who want to step up the terrorist activities in the city through bombings and shoot outs.

On the other hand, the extremists group is also quickly changing its cadres operating in the city following the steps for strict vigil by the police.

Highly placed intelligence reports here says the cadres operating in upper Assam are rushing to the city areas to escape the vigil while the city cadres are leaving for the upper Assam places.

Some dogs are surrendered and some dogs are not. But both the dogs are biting our motherland Assam. These dogs should die. If they kill each other let them do that. They will be of any use to Assam only when they are dead.

ANLA activist killed by Police in Golaghat

Golaghat : One ANLA activist was killed while three others managed to escape in a fierce fighting between the ANLA activists and a joint team of CRPF and Golaghat Police at Naojan Pachim Beelpar bordering Dhansiri Sarupathar subdivision.Golagaht police received a tip off on the ANLA activists in the area and they laid an ambush for the activists alongwith the CFPF team. Unknown Miscreants hijack bus in Burapahar, Assam

Burapahar: Some unknown miscreants have hijacked a bus at Burapahar in Assam. The miscreants hijacked the bus at gun point from the Burapahar area in the National Highway 37. Bomb blast in Srirampur, Assam - 4 killed, 18 injured

GUWAHATI, July 20: A powerful bomb exploded in Srirampur Chariali under Tamarhat police station in Kokrajhar district on Friday killing 4 people and seriously injuring 18 others.The bomb was kept on a bicycle which was kept in front of a shop near the ASTC counter.Two people died on the spot and eight sustained serious injuries. Two ULFA Rebels killed, 2 Linkmen arrested

GUWAHATI : The Army on Thursday killed two ULFA militants in Tinsukia district, about 500 kms from Guwahati.
