Incessant rainfall for the last couple of days have resulted in the a rise of water levels in the river Brahmaputra and its tributaries, inundating vast tracts of farmlands and villages in several districts.
The river Brahmaputra and its tributaries are flowing above the danger level submerge many areas in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Kamrup (Rural), Udalguri, Dhemaji and Dhubri.
The worst affected villages are Dadhia, Sarisuti, Tengabari, Karomi and Mohmora at Chabua under Dibrugarh district with vast tracts of paddy fields inundated in flood water.
Flash floods at the Telijan river has created havoc in around 15 villages in Jonai sub-division with hundreds of hectares of farm land submerged under water.
