12 hrs Dima Hasao Bandh

Demanding immediate release of Sri Mohet Hojai, former Chief Executive Member of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council from judicial custody and immediate withdrawal of NIA cases against Sri Mohet Hojai, former Chief Executive Member of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, the Autonomous State Demand Committee has called for a 12 hours Dima Hasao Bandh from 5 am to 5 pm on May 19.


Sri Hojai has been in judicial custody for about three years and was not allowed bail while other in the same case was allowed bail.


The ASDC has termed the attitude of the Government as biased and warned the government if their leaders including Mohet Hojai are not released even after their agitation, the ASDC would be compelled to launch an extreme democratic movement for which ASDC could not be held responsible.


The ASDC has also organised stage–in-demonstration in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao on May 24th next.

Twin blast at Haflong on Sunday with an interval of only 30 minutes rocked Haflong. First one was exploded near synod Gallery and Second one was exploded near Statefed godown in Sarkari bagan but no one was injured. Due to blast glass pane of the house of one H Kemprai were damaged.
