Kaziranga National Park opens for tourists
Kaziranga National Park (KNP) reopened for tourists by Assam Forest Minister Rakibul Hussain on Saturday at a function held at Mihimukh inside the park.Elephant and jeep safaris for tourists in the Kohora, Bagori, Agoratoli and Burhapahar ranges also opened for tourists.In the occasion Mr. Hussain said "This year we are expecting more number of turist from from the country and abroad".He also hope that the KNP would evolve into a major tourist attraction in the Northeast and that no tourist visiting the region as a whole would leave it without having a KNP taste.He also announced the dues clear of hundreds of casual KNP forest guards who have been without salaries for the past seven months within seven days.

There was widespread shock and apprehension of foul play over the death of a young student from Manipur in Chennai.Okram Laba, 19year old a second year student of BCA, Hindustan college of arts and science, Chennai was reported dead at his hostel room by his College Principal.
