2 businessmen gun down in Karbi Anglong, KPLT's hand suspected


Again violence in Karbi Anglong. Spate killings of innocent people have started again by suspected outlaw militant organizations in the hill district Karbi Anglong. As a part of this, two Cinnamon businessmen of the Samelangso bazaar shot at by suspected armed militant group today at Chir Engti village which is about only one and half kilometer way from Samelangso police station.


According to report, Bijay Dey and Sudarshan alias Jamadar Narzary inhabitants of Samelangso bazaar both went out at around 9 am for the purpose of purchasing of cinnamon from the Karbi local people at Chir Engti village near by the aforesaid bazaar.


But after the incident took place at around 11 am, report of attacking by suspected armed militant group over the two businessmen come to the victim families. Promptly both the victim family members rushed to the police station near by the bazaar. As soon as report received, the Assam police and security forces also reached to the spot.


After examining the body, it is reported that both the persons were shot at on the head from a close range by the militants. On the other hand, while replying to the questions of reporters, police revealed that Karbi Peoples Liberation Tiger (KPLT) militant organization is involved behind the carnage. Joint search operation is intensified to nab the militants, police added.


On the other hand, expressing serious concerned over the killing of the two innocent businessmen, all the Bodo frontal organizations like ABSU, BSS, ABWF, Kachari Samaj, Ex-BLT Welfare Society, DUBHA, DUBAA and BOGA have called 10-hour Karbi Anglong bandh on September 3.


Meanwhile, condemning the brutal killing by the militant, the Bodo frontal organizations demand the Government for the compensation against both the victim families.
