Four jehadis held

Operation was carried out by a joint team of Kokrajhar and Chirang police, four jehadi elements were apprehended from three different locations in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.

BTAD (IGP) LR Bishnoi told reporters at Kajalgaon in Chirang that a joint team of Kokrajhar and Chirang police conducted raids and apprehended four persons from three different locations in the district.

The arrested persons were identified as - Abu Bakkar Siddique (32), Azizul Sheikh (19) -both arrested from Tulsibil under Gossaigaon police station, Jahanur Alam Sheikh(29) arrested from Mowamari under Gossaigaon police station and Samsad Ali Mandal(42) from Joypur in Kokrajhar.

On interrogation one HE grenade, one revolver, seven round M20 ammunition, two army camouflage dress and five mobile phone were recovered.

More interrogation is on. Bishnoi said so far arrested 22 persons in the operation and arms & ammunitions recovered which includes 10 country made AK-series rifles, 2 Insas rifle, 2 AK barrel, one 7.65 mm pistol, 1 handmade gun,  2 live rounds of 7.65 mm pistol, 3 revolver, 7 rounds of 0.38 live ammunition, 7 round 9 mm ammunition, 28 pairs army uniform, 12 nos hunting shoes, 12 camouflage caps, 12 pairs shocks, 12 anklet, belts, 21 mobile  etc.
