PMGSY road in Dudhnoi

The state of implementation of PMGSY in Goalpara district is very poor, particularly in and around Dudhnoi. Earthen roads are seen in most of the cases, which become muddy even in a single rain. The photo shows a road constructed under PMGSY in 2010.

The GDP of the Indian sub-continent will touch points like 9, 10, 11…., due to FDI. But, places like we live in will always bear he tag ‘developing' because of the insincere human resource. Good roads and strong bridges reflect honesty, minimal corruption…road condition is the report card of a people, of a system.

The nodal department i.e., the PWD (Roads) has been putting up a good effort against many odds prevailing. I have seen many roads under construction. The progree is slow but the overall quality has been good

Third Phase of Panchayat Polls Going on

Amid an elaborate security arrangement 42 lakh voters are voting on Wednesday in the third phase of panchayat polls. the polling began in the morning to end at 5 in the evening. Asa many as 38,000 candidates are in the fray in this phase. The lady is a social worker with a unique talent. She renders melodious songs in Assamese, Bangali and other languages in different places in order to collect donations for 'Thalassaemia patients'. The name of the lady is Sarbani Mazumdar. She is the wife of Bhibas Mazumdar, a resident of Kandi in the district of Murshidabad in West Bengal.
