Career Counselling at Diyungbra

In a bid to sensitise students on various career opportunities .North East Youth Foundation (NEYF) had organised a Career Counselling Programme at St Xavier’s School in Diyungbra in the Dima Hasao District on 19th March. The career counselling programme was first of its kind as for the first time this kind of programme was organised in the school campuses which was founded in 2001. Programme was inaugurated by Fr Arul Soosai, Principal of the school and facilitated and moderated by Ranjan K Baruah of NEYF. Various career opportunities were discussed by the resource person apart from providing information to students about their dream profession. Al together 60 students participated in the programme and they interacted with the resources person and got information on various requirements for becoming successful in life. NEYF and St Xavier’s shall organise more of such programme for the students in the locality in coming days as this kind of programme helps the students in their career planning.

Jesuits are doing marvellous job in Dima Hasao District. They have done so much for the children in such a short span of time. I feel so happy to know that the North East Youth Foundation is helping them out in their own humble way. Hope many more good people will extend their helping hands in the days to come.

ULFa has killed a gaonburah in lower Assam’s Udalguri disitrct on Sunday afternoon.. Five Assam Rifles jawans in Jorhat have been arrested and sent to jail on Saturday for trying to kidnap a girl while she was on her way back to home after enjoying a Bihu festival.According to information, five jawans of the Assam Rifles were trying to molest some five girls at Garmurh area in Jorhat at around 11-30 on Friday night. A few girls were on their way back to their homes after attending a Bihu festival. The jawans from the Lekhapani camp tried to forcibly give them lift them on their gipsy. Army have picked up one Kamala Rajkonwar in upper Assam's Sivasagar district in the wee hours on Saturday.
