Protest erupts in Golaghat

A massive protest erupts in Golaghat district alleging government conspiracy behind the recent death of Anjan Barua of Barpothar.KMSS is taking out huge protest in Golaghat demanding action against Barpothar police station officer in charge. KMSS further demands a high level probe into the incident.


Update from Golaghat: KMSS stages a dharna at Golaghat on 28th Feb infront of DC office demanding the suspension and arrest of OC Borpathar Police Station, Mr. Ranjit Moran who is alleged to abet the suicide of Anjan Barua a KMSS member.Untill and unless their demands are met, KMSS will sit in a hunger strike infront of the DC office. The dead body of Anjan Barua is still lying iin Golaghat Civil Hospital's Morgue, as his family members and KMSS refused to take the dead body untill the govt. arrest and suspend Mr. Ranjit Moran, OC Borpathar Police Station. The situation is still tense in Golaghat as no consensus has been reached.

A Guwahati based organization takes on Chief minister and APSC alleging bribe in the examination held to select the candidates for ACS, APS and allied services. The officials of the Peoples'Welfare Forum lodged an FIR at Basistha police station against chief minister Tarun Gogoi and APSC chairman Rakesh Paul charging the duo to have taken bribe from a section of candidates to ensure their success in the competitive examination. Gogoi on Friday said that RTI is available to get the doubts cleared. The organization staged dharna in front of APSC office premises on Saturday raising bribery allegations.
