Top leaders attended BJP rally in Nagaon


The top national leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assembled here today in a public rally held at Nehrubali in Nagaon . After a formal prayer by the party leaders at Batadrava than , the leaders landed at Nagaon around 1.30 pm which was greeted by BJP MP Rajen Gohain with Gamusa. The Bangladeshi influx issue is the main poll plank of BJP. The youth icon of BJP and the party’s lelction observer for Assam Varun Gandhi along with National president (BJP) Nitin Gadkari, Gen Secretary Bijoy Goel, national vice president Bijoya Chakraborty and Ranjit Dutta got a warm reception at the public meeting which was attended by more than 5 lakhs people. The entire top leaders were felicitated with Asomiya Gamusa and Japi (head gear) by the State & district BJP workers. Rajen Gohain, the BJP MP on his welcome speech spoke about the need of BJP in Assam to make it free from Corruption and Bangladeshi Influx issue.


While addressing the public Bijoya Chakraborty appealed the voters for their support for the up coming assembly election which is scheduled to be held in the month of April 2011.Chakraborty criticized the Tarun Gogoi led congress government which has done nothing for the development of the state. She also criticized Assam Forest & Tourism minister Rockybul Hussian and appealed the voters to make end of the congress government who are totally corrupted. The congress never wants to end the Bangladeshi influx issue as these illegal migrants are helping the congress party at the time of poll. Bangladeshi issue has become a great threat for our State, so I appeal you all to help BJP in making government, which will end this problem.


While Varun Gandhi on his speech told that he dreams for a corrupted free government in Assam and hope that the people of Nagaon would definitely fulfill his dream. He moreover talked about the scams of the congress government. He said, “ We will provide social security and justice to all the people of Assam if we would be elected to form government. He challenged to make Assam free from all sorts of corruption and injustice. The illegal migrants in the state is not only the problem of Assam but it’s a national problem., he told. He moreover told that the present state government has provided land and ration cards for the Bangladeshis to turn them as permanent citizen to get help at the time of election. But BJP will never consider them and promised to make the state free from Bangladeshis. The youth icon of BJP also announced that they would provide Rs 25000/- for the marriage of girls of poor Indian families if they come in power. He declared that congress cannot build a develop nation with modern infrastructure as there are many pathholes.


The general secretary of Bharatiya Janata party Bijoy Goel who also accompanied Varun for the rally told that about more than 40 lakhs of Bangaldeshis are living in Assam. By paying his tribute to Gopinath Bordoloi, he said Gopinath Bordoloi was the person who stood against inclusion of Assam with Pakistan. He criticized his son who has been continuously supporting the Bangladeshis. He said, “Congress government is only for Bangladeshis and not for the real Indians.”


The rally was concluded with the speech presented by the national president Nitin Gadkari who also pointed out the poor farmers problems along with big dam issue.
