NE regional JNV Kabadi meet concludes


The regional level bous Kabadi meet of all JNV schools of Northeast India concluded at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Kalaigaon campus on September 9. Dhruba Hazarika, Deputy Commissioner, Darrang who is also the chairman of the school GB formally declared the meet closed at a function after the final matches were played.On the occasion he thanked the principal and staff of JNV Kalaigaon for the excellent arrangement of the meet.Madhab Sarma,principal,JNV Kalaigaon welcomed all the guests and players before felicitating the guests with mementos and flower bouques. A few distinguished personalities namely - Arabinda Das, principal, Kalaigaon college; Jayanta Kumar Das, District NCSC coordinator; Kamal Prasad Sarma, Mouzadar, Kalaigaon; Dr.RS Sarma,principal, JNV, Udalguri and Paul Soren, vice principal JNV Kalaigaon attended the closing ceremony as guest of honour.


It needs mention that,the two days regional bous Kabadi meet had been inaugurated on September 8 at 9 pm by Manorama Das,District Sports Officer,Darrang.A total of 192 players and 22 officials from 85 Nos of JNV s from all the NE states participated in the meet.The matches were played in three categories ie - up to 14, 17 and 19 years respectively in 8 clusters. The selected players will represent NE JNV team in the National meet to be held at Saharsa in Bihar from 20 to 23 October, 2010.
