'Rock for Peace' at Haflong

To reach out globally with the message of love, peace and brotherhood through the local venture 'Rock 4 Peace', the Haflong Music Association (HMA) a the recently formed body of musicians and music lovers has organized a one day Musical Concert scheduled to be held on 6th of August 2010 at Lal Field (Town Committee Field), Haflong from 2 PM onwards, stated press release.

The release maintained that the world was in the grips of disorder and violence, triggered by economic, social, and politic conflict in which forces of fundamentalism add fuel to the fire. Not a single day passes without hearing the blood cuddling news of merciless killings and violence. Terrorism was seen to be the order of the day. This world scenario forces them to think, reflect and work for Peace.

Peace was an essential pre-condition and the Cornerstone of true human progress as it is said that, "Peace is indivisible and when it does not exist in any single area, it cannot be said 1 exist fully anywhere else."

Peace was not only the absence of War or Fight. Peace was Shanti or Shalom a holistic word for which includes all human conditions - economic, social, political, health of Mind, Body and soul and prosperity for one and all. This was lost in the world they were living today.

Therefore they have invited different Musical Bands from Haflong and elsewhere to join them in this noble venture - Music being a universal language breaks all barriers of Class, Caste, Creed, Community race and Language. Music also unites youths who are often lead astray and misled by vested interests groups. We are very proud to inform that in this venture of ours the following band have come forward in support - Maestro, Dark Horizon, Digital Suicide, 444, Redemption Grace, 4th Excavation, Prayas, Bistar, Soul Tree and many more.
